| To encourage the agriculture, through large scale use and application of Biotechnology, it is planned to create a cluster, in the form of Agro-Biotech Park
which would facilitate Agro-processing, agro-exports, value addition and enable the availability of all the components of value chain. GSBTM has conceptualized the
establishment of Agro-Biotechnology Park in Gujarat. The location, technical feasibility studies, stakeholder meetings, identification of land etc has been done. The
project is planned to be developed either under public private partnership or in collaboration with GIDC. The project is expected to cost around Rs. 403.9 crores.
State government’s contribution would be in the form of land and also in developing the incubator facilities (civil work and select equipments) and to the tune of Rs. 30.0
crores. The contribution of private partner would be approx. Rs. 373.9 crores. 125 acres of government land has been identified and reserved for the purpose. The
project has been approved and process of development is likely to begin shortly. |
