| To encourage the marine biotechnology, through large scale use and application of Biotechnology, it is planned to create a cluster, in the form of Marine Biotech Park in
Gujarat which would facilitate bio-prospecting of marine resources, development of new products, value addition and enable the availability of all the components of
value chain. GSBTM has conceptualized the establishment of Marine Biotech Park in Gujarat. As first step, concept development and Feasibility analysis from location and
technical perspective, was done and report developed. The project concept was discussed for technical vetting in a Stakeholder Consultation Meeting for establishing
Marine Biotech Incubator & Park. Land in Village sachana, Taluka Jodia, Dist. Jamnagar, was identified and reserved. The estimated project cost is 16709.34 lacs of
which funding of Rs. 2913.7 lacs have been requested from DBT & the Private Partner is expected to invest Rs. 12595.64 lacs. The remaining amount of Rs. 1200
lacs would be needed from Government of Government in the form of land and also in developing the incubator facilities. The project has been approved and process of
development is likely to begin shortly |
