Biotechnology is a knowledge intensive field and it requires trained human resources in different sectors.Scientific programmes, research and development - schemes, technology development, product/process development, institutional building and industry depend on good human resources. The strength of any developmental programme is determined by the weakest element and this can be often identified by inadequate human resources of the institution.
This may result from insufficient numbers of staff, but also from insufficiently trained and motivated staff who feel undervalued and do not perform their duties well. It is therefore essential that human resources development strategies are developed to ensure that they have the capacity and capability to carry out the activities assigned to them.

Fore sighting the growth of the biotechnology sector and the human resource requirements, GSBTM under its Biotechnology Development Program has initiated a concept called mbtEACH Multi-institutional teachers training program in molecular biology and bioinformatics [mbtEACH] for biotechnology academic and scientific community of Gujarat.
